New details have emerged from the diary of Chattanooga shooter Mohammad Abdulazeez.

Officials say the 24-year-old wrote about having suicidal thoughts.

A family spokesperson also says Abdulazeez Googled about martyrdom, wondering if it would absolve his sins.

The FBI searched a Chattanooga apartment complex Monday following a lead on the shooter’s associates. The Tennessean reports they encountered a 15-year-old pointing a rifle at them. No other details have been released.

One of the five servicemen who died in the attack will be laid to rest in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

U.S. Marine Staff Sergeant David Allen Wyatt will be buried there at his family’s request because of his love for Chattanooga.

Services have not yet been set.

In response to the Chattanooga shooting, at least a half-dozen states have authorized National Guardsmen to protect recruiting offices.

The U.S. Military has also outlined security upgrades for recruiting stations.

In Murfreesboro, armed volunteers stood guard outside a recruiting office Monday.

Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam has ordered flags to remain at half-staff until Friday.

Today President Obama is expected to address whether the White House flag will be lowered to half-staff.

A man has been arrested at the memorial site for the Chattanooga shooting.

Authorities say 60-year-old James Hutchins preached for four hours, yelling and arguing.

He’s also accused of repeatedly touching police officers and calling one a racial slur.

Hutchins, who is from Madisonville, is charged with inciting to riot and disorderly conduct.

Local gun sales have soared after the attacks.

Hundreds of Chattanoogans have purchased weapons and signed up for carry permits.

The Shooter’s Depot says it’s booked nearly 300 carry-permit classes since Friday.

Country star Brantley Gilbert will hold a benefit concert for the shooting victims’ families.

Gilbert plans to come to Chattanooga but the date and exact location are yet to be announced.

Public Defender Steve Smith’s Facebook comments are coming under scrutiny.

The day after the attack, he wrote “I just can’t agree that the best we can do is pray for Chattanooga. I think the best we can do is ascertain who our enemies are, whether foreign or domestic, and then kill them. That is what the CPD did. What will Barack Hussein Obama do?”

Local Democrats are denouncing the comments. Chairman Terry Lee says the statement clearly violates the principles of the American justice system.

A CARTA bus ran over and killed a pedestrian in downtown Chattanooga.

It happened in front of the Family Dollar store on Market Street Monday.

Officials say 60-year-old Thaddeus Dixson lost his balance and fell into the path of the bus.

It’s the first time in memory a CARTA bus has run over and killed someone.

Police say the driver will not be charged.

A 10-year-old boy is dead and two girls are in the hospital after a four-wheeler crash.

It happened in DeKalb County, Alabama, Saturday.

14-year-old Haley Brown of Geraldine and an unnamed 13-year-old were both taken to Huntsville Hospital.

The girls remain in serious condition.

It’s been a record-breaking month for tornadoes in Tennessee.

We’ve had nine twisters in the state so far this month, a state record for July.

It’s more than double the previous high, which was reached last year.

Two of the tornadoes were in Putnam and Monroe counties.

But the good news is, no fatalities have been reported.
